Captain Hadley avenges Andy by severely beating Bogs. Was that justice? Why do you think he did that?
Captain Hadley, a prison guard who uses violence to gain control of the prisoners. With Captain Hadley severely beating Bogs, I believe was justice for Andy. Andy now knows he was avenged by Captain Hadley and that he taught Bogs a lesson. From this beating, Bogs and the Sisters are now taught to never lay another finger on Andy again. Andy had also gained trust and a connection with Hadley. I believed he did this to repay him back for offering him to legally shelter his money, inheritance and assist with taxes. He also did this to gain trust with the inmates, so for when they are released, they wouldn't let the outside world know of Hadley's actions inside the prison.
