What scene in The Shawshank Redemption was the most meaningful for you?
The most meaningful scene for me in this film was when Andy and Red talk about life after Shawshank. This is where Andy tells Red his wishes of going down to the Mexico coast and to make a living out on the Pacific. Andy explains how you have no memory when down at the Pacific. “You know what the Mexicans say about the Pacific? They say it has no memory.” This is meaningful to me as hope is brought throughout this scene as they set dreams on become a free man, give themselves the chance to live through Andy’s sheer determination. Red makes the decision to go Mexico to find Andy, proving Red’s own redemption as they both take a new path as free men.
